As part of the acclaimed 'Sessions' series, FTD is pleased to announce the release of THE HOW GREAT THOU ART SESSIONS. Recorded in May and June 1966. The 3x Platinum winning album also gave Elvis his first Grammy ® award for "Best Sacred Performance".Apart from the excellent gospel performances that include "Run On", "So High" and "Where No One Stands Alone". The sessions also spawned the secular hits "If Every Day Was Like Christmas", "Love Letters", and Indescribably Blue. Packaged in FTD's 8-inch format, it includes a 24-page booklet with insightful notes, recording details, and memorabilia.

The HGTA album is presented as originally planned by Elvis prior to RCA's decision to include the 1965 hit "Crying In The Chapel." This recording, along with outtakes, is already on FTD's previous release of The His Hand In Mine Sessions,

Frontcover ganz ohne Schrift ? Naja, die inneren Werte zählen.

 

Das soll das Cover sein? Was war das doch für ein wunderbares Cover bei den »Elvis is Back«-Sessions. Und nun das?  

Tja, das andere ist das Booklet, dies ist die Front vom Schuber.

Aber das ist auch eine nette Idee, das ist das Plattenlabel zur EAP Silberbox. Da musste ich jetzt erstmal überlegen, aber klar, das war die Erstveröffentlichung von "Beyond The Reef".

According to the tracklisting, the masters of "How Great Thou Art" and "Run On" are not included as part of the sessions. Take 3 FS of "How Great Thou Art" is missing."

Ich habe die Tracklist abgeändert und von ShopElvisMatters übernommen. Dort werden "How Great Thou Art" Take 3+Master, als auch Run On Master auf CD 2 gelistet. Hat sich wohl um einen Schreibfehler gehandelt.

Das Classic-Album mit zwei ca. 80 Min. Laufzeit war schon voll gepackt.

Muss(?) man sich die 5er Box nun kaufen weil noch andere Songs, außer Gospel, dabei sind ? Nur Gospel hätte ich nicht gekauft !

Haben wir die Songs von CD 3 und CD 5 (ohne Gospel) schon irgendwo (FTD) ?

Ich kann und möchte nicht so schnell aus der Hüfte schießen.

Ganz deiner Meinung. Passt überhaupt nicht. Schrecklich. Das Frontcover der Boulevard LP war wohl nur der Anfang.
Aber vielleicht es es auch nur ein Platzhalter? Das hatten wir aber auch schon des Öfteren gehofft. Abwarten.
